Elite X10 / X20 – Horse Treadmill

Our elite X-Series treadmills are the result of an extensive development process during which we incorporated the feedback of renowned professional users in the equestrian sports as well as private users. Our goal was not to win design awards, but to earn our customers’ trust through everyday use. We have succeeded in doing so across the board in terms of material quality, craftsmanship, and practical applications. That’s what our customers say! On top of that, the machines also look high-quality!

As the name suggests, the two treadmills differ in their maximum speeds. While the X 20 treadmill offers recreational and hobby riders sufficient training capacity for walking and trotting speeds, the X 45 treadmill—which features more robust components—is designed for higher athletic demands, specifically for competitive trotting and galloping. Upon special request for professional use, the belt speed can be increased even further to 55 km/h.

Horse treadmills have a wide range of applications. They are generally suitable for addressing a lack of exercise, increasing strength, endurance, and blood circulation, improving respiratory capacity, and supporting a variety of athletic goals. The incline and elevation functions of the Sascotec Horsepower treadmills allow for targeted training of the forehand and hindquarters, support the horse’s natural stride variability, and reduce flat-footedness. The optional, AI-powered digital training and analysis systems enable early detection of potential physical impairments, allow for the storage of a wide variety of training programs for a large number of horses, and thus optimize the entire training process on an individual basis.

Our treadmills (as well as our aqua trainers) are equipped with the “Sascosafe” safety package. This includes one-handed safety latches, a light barrier, a covered belt retraction area, and an emergency stop system.

First, a somewhat casual answer: They do exactly what they’re supposed to—and they keep doing it! Unfortunately, this isn’t as common in the horse treadmill market as it should be, as we know from many personal conversations. Equipment failure causes extremely high costs and a lot of hassle for professional equestrian operations.

But let’s get back to the unique features of our tapes.

All components are designed to have substantial mechanical and electrical safety margins with respect to the loads for which they are intended.

The straps of the Sascotec Horsepower bands feature patented shock absorption. This is achieved through individually mounted dynamic suspension elements (our so-called Dynamic Joint Protectors). This guarantees the well-known “Forest Floor Effect”—that is, a feel comparable to walking on soft, moss-covered forest floor. The impact forces on the hooves are up to 30 percent lower than on hard surfaces. This protects both the horse’s joints and the belt itself. The belt’s service life is extended accordingly, which reduces costs compared to competitors.

Sascotec Horsepower uses the largest rubber-coated belt drums. This reduces belt wear by an additional 10% and ensures a noise level lower than that of a running washing machine (at 7 km/h, the noise level is only 75 dB). Less noise means less stress for horses and operators.

The track layout inside the arena does not require wedges in the hoof space on either side. This prevents missteps, slips, and twists, which can lead to serious injuries, as numerous cases have shown. In both types of treadmills, the side walls are also slightly angled inward, which helps center the horses’ movement toward the middle of the track.

The belt retractor is fully enclosed. No small animal, no child’s hand, and no piece of clothing can be pulled into it. The horror stories of serious accidents involving competitors’ products prompted Sascotec Horsepower to devote many hours to development in this area!

The ramps do not need to be folded up to collect horse manure. This makes hygiene work much easier, especially in tight spaces, such as those found in some stables.

Sascotec Horsepower treadmills are the longest on the market. Even large horses can let their heads hang relaxed forward and downward without bumping into the back of the treadmill and getting startled. These are the conditions for a relaxed workout!

The treadmills feature various tie-up options on the inside, allowing horses of different lengths and heights to be positioned precisely without hindering their natural movement.
