An Aquatrainer for Hof Büchsenschinken: Part 1 – Installation
(Hamburg) Way up north, we installed our Elite Aquatrainer in November in the elegant color anthracite. To get through the stable aisle into the therapy room, there were only two options: remodel the stable or disassemble the Aquatrainer. For obvious reasons, we decided to spare the stable. So we took our prized piece apart and divided it into two transportable sections. Under the watchful eyes of the Hönke family’s four-legged members, everyone pitched in and helped maneuver the lower tank into place. The horses peered out of their stalls with curiosity. They’d never seen anything like this at the „Pension Büchsenschinken.” Meanwhile, the boss herself was filling the 20,000-liter underground tank, which will serve as the water supply for our aqua trainer in the future. Once inside, the next task was to lift the heavy lower tank into the prepared pit. And what do you do when one „Weidemann” isn’t powerful enough to handle the weight of the stainless-steel tank? It’s simple: you use two „Weidemanns”! After some maneuvering, the lower section was finally in place, and the upper section of the unit could be installed. On the second day, the Aquatrainer was aligned and the waste filter was connected—after all, what self-respecting horse would want to train in dirty water!? Pumps and pipes were then installed, so that nothing stood in the way of a prompt start-up—except for a thorough training session. This took place a week later.
